There was a disruption in this plan and now all of history is about the restoration of man and creation back to this original purpose. Jesus is the field general who will present the restored kingdom back to the Creator. We are part of this restoration called revealed history.

After the flood there were eight survivors who were ordained to usher in a new beginning. A new charter was given but this time the garden they were to over see was no longer a paradise, instead it was now a wilderness where death now reigns as king. In the original charter man was to be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth. They were to have dominion and subdue it. In this time of innocence man was to rule by love. In the new charter man is to be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth but he is no longer to have dominion over it. The harmony that man had with nature is now gone. In the world today death is the supreme ruler.
God graciously allowed these eight people survival. What the generation today fail to grasp, is that with all blessings there is a cost. The cost of this blessing was obedience and it is mans duty to obey God and His ordinances. These ordinances are permanent and must not be ignored or altered.
One of the ordinances that was ordained was government. Mans heart is evil and it is the fear of punishment that deters man from breaking laws. Government in a fallen world run by man has it’s weaknesses but the alternative is anarchy.
God has established three institutions in all of history. Marriage and the family, government and the church. Each has its sphere of responsibility and we cannot substitute one for the other. It is not by coincidence that these three institutions are under assault by the intellectual elite. We must always remember that everything that is legal is not always biblical. If government interferes with matters of Christian conscious we have a right and a duty to disobey. This being said, we must also not put our patriotism over our theology. Each of these three institutions is ordained by God to help navigate His creation in this fallen world as history unfolds.
